Christopher was educated by the Jesuits at Stonyhurst College in Clitheroe, Lancashire. He continued his studies at Oxford where he qualified as a solicitor in 1985. Christopher is now a partner with Charles Russell, mainly representing farmers and landowners, as well as some large charities.

He has a wonderful wife and five children and is a devoted husband and father.

Outside of working life, Christopher pursues many interests and works as a volunteer for charitable organisations. Specifically, since 1979 he works as a Hospitalier in Lourdes, where he undertakes a variety of duties helping sick pilgrims who are on pilgrimage. He is also Chairman of the Stonyhurst Association,  Trustee of Eagle Aid, Contributor to The Tablet and Chairman of his Parish Pastoral Council.

His leisure activities include walking, playing the Irish Pipes, gardening, painting, and walking the dogs!

Christopher has attained wide-ranging experience in his professional life as well as in the voluntary sector. He will be using his skills to ensure  that SPICMA can continue in its work to help people affected by famine and natural disasters as well as improving the quality of their lives by, for example, giving them access to clean water and other basic rights.
